The wind farm on Coldingham Moor. All the senses come into play as the reason for the choice of location of these windturbines is made clear. There are more and more wind farms in Scotland. Harnessing the power of solar, wind and wave has to be part of the way forward and some of the structures are particularly elegant.
The scale of wind farming in the Lammermuir hills nearby is staggering. You can only see glimpses from the A1, the great road which runs from the south to Scotland. Leave the main road, however, and drive into the bare landscape and you are surrounded by windturbines on all sides. The landscape fades into the background, playing second fiddle to this orchestration of whirring blades.
It is a sight which, not surprisingly for a wind harnessing mechanism, takes your breath away.
